HOUSE N°2 is a detailed case study in minimal impact high performance design. Proposed for a rural side in close proximity to a protected wetlands and wildlife reserve, the design makes use of an existing foundation re-cycled and appropriated for a modular component based / high efficiency house. As a case study design, several innovative construction strategies are combined in the design including an all-metal ventilated façade and roof envelope, structural insulated panel prefabricated construction, ventilating skylights, ultra efficient glazing systems, energy recycling heating and water systems. PROJECT TEAM: Rona Easton / Lonn Combs (Principal Architects), Michael Stradley, Design Team / Structural Engineering: Chad Lindburg PE, Taconic Engineering
