The Triptukhos Series for Labor and Domiciles is a furniture prototype presented at the 2002 Salone Internazionale del Mobile, Salon Satellite in Milan Italy. The series incorporates a set of scalar mimics that provide a range of programmatic opportunities for the domestic and working environment. Two surface strategies are pursued, one lacquered for abstract clarity and another veneered surface version that extends the syntactical logic of the table’s planar fold into a surface logic articulation. The table’s corner fold condition produces an optical effect that renders the table’s mass and plane relationship ambiguous.
‘Situations’ is a hypothetical advertising campaign that frames the programmatic agenda of this project by juxtaposing potential uses of the furniture against objects of cultural resonance whereby producing a subversive associative effect.
